Shawtrack specialises in the manufacture of low profile beavertail bodies serving the whole of the UK. It also builds other specialist vehicles to bespoke specifications.

Since we last featured Shawtrack in May last year, the company has grown from strength to strength and continued to add value to the wide range of products and services it offers its customers.

Late last year the company expanded its factory premises by 18,000 square feet, thus improving its build timescales considerably and facilitating the addition of a 5,800 sq ft Quality Control Department. It also opened a dedicated Spare Parts division, offering a ‘supply and install’ or ‘supply only’ service. With over 1,300 different product lines and nearly £200k of items in stock at any one time, parts can normally be delivered within 24 hours.

Shawtrack has also created a dedicated Post-Sales Department, headed up by Colin Emmerson, a veteran of customer services having been previously employed in key positions at B&Q and TNT. Customers have already responded very positively to this, appreciating the timely reminders from Shawtrack representatives about upcoming end of warranty inspections and new deals they could benefit from. The Post-Sales Department also offers winch and hydraulic safety checks. Winch safety checks are expected to become mandatory next year due to the rising number of fatalities resulting from poorly-maintained equipment and Shawtrack is one of the few companies already meeting government testing criteria for these.

Shawtrack continues to expand its product range too, with a new range of quality lorry loader cranes from Effer and Heila, then an exciting new tri-axle low loader will be launched at SED 2007. The Emperor tri axle being specifically for powered access transportation, this model offers substantial benefits over the more generic trailers offered by competitors.
