SHAWtrack have fitted a 70T/M Hiab crane to Scania R114 380 6x2 twin steer tractor unit for export to the Caymen Islands. Vaughan Croft from the Cayman Islands purchased a second hand 6 x2 tractor unit from Glasgow. He then asked Shawtrack to convert the unit into a twin steer eight wheel tractor unit configration, without the tag axle. (therefore leaving the tractor as a 6x2 with a second steering axle at 1940mm from the first)
The vehicle was then to be fitted with a Hiab 700 crane with flyjib, this was supplied by Hiab in the USA. Before the crane was installed here at Shawtrack we built a full length subframe with full length side plates to give the strength to carry such a large crane. Once the crane was installed and fully comissioned of the docks to sail to the Cayman Islands were the unit will be working round the clock in Vaughans business called "In His Hands"
