Shawtrack clinch £1.4 million deal

SHAWtrack, leading designers and manufacturers of bespoke plant transportation vehicles, has recently secured a deal worth £1.4 million with Nationwide Access, the UK and Europes foremost Powered Access hire specialists.

Nationwide Access purchased 58 of SHAWtracks Beavertail Access Bodies, which will be installed on to DAF CF75-310 chassis, to service its fleet of self-propelled boom and scissor lifts. The deal forms part of a £14 million expansion plan by Nationwide Access.
Nationwide first made enquiries to SHAWtrack last year; together the companies discussed specification, design and health & safety issues. Nationwide was looking for a product that showed innovation, quality, flexibilty and one that would meet the demands from its branches accross the country.

"Last year we got a user group of drivers and other staff together to discuss our delivery needs. We looked at the sort of problems that crop up with machine deliveries and found that uneven weight distribution was a common one," said Nationwide Access marketing manager Scott McCall. "We also analysed typical machine combinations and how they worked in relation to the delivery vehicles and began to work out the optimum solution."

Mr McCall added. "Once we had identified our exact needs we spoke to SHAWtrack and found that they really understood our requirements."

The first of the 58 vehicles is scheduled for delivery in early March with the remainder being delivered in phases through to July.

Jeff Wright, sales director of SHAWtrack Services said, "at SHAWtrack we have continuously reviewed and devloped the design of our SHAWbodies - our innovative approach and commitment to producing the ultimate product becomes apparent when a blue chip company, such as Nationwide Access, chooses our product over our industry competitors. We are delighted with the deal and are looking forward to a long working relationshiop with Nationwide."
